Cory “Big Red” Milton had a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. After his life was tragically cut short at just 19 years old, his family turned their heartbreak into a lasting legacy built around something Cory truly loved: sports.
The Big Red Memorial Fund was created with a simple mission: So All Kids Can Play.
Through the annual Big Red Memorial Motorcycle Poker Run and the generosity of our community, we help local children and families overcome the financial barriers that can keep young athletes on the sidelines.
From registration fees and equipment to sports camps and other athletic expenses, the fund provides financial assistance to children in need throughout New London County through an application process.
Over the years, we’ve proudly supported numerous local programs, including Groton Mystic Youth Football, New London Youth Football, Groton Babe Ruth, Groton Youth Soccer, Fitch High School athletics, Stonington Youth Football, Stonington Youth Soccer, Waterford Basketball, and many more.
Because every child deserves the chance to be part of a team.
